Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council
Good Relations Audit Survey

Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council (DSTBC) has commissioned Holywell Consultancy to carry out an audit to identify priority good relations issues (concerned with sectarianism and racism) in the Borough.

The audit process includes an online survey. This questionnaire has been designed to:

  • Gauge the opinion of the local population on good relations issues.
  • Assess how the local public feel that the Council addresses good relations issues.
  • Identify future good relations issues to be addressed by the Council.
  • Give local people the chance to influence Council’s future Good Relations activities and plans.
  • Identify other local (or national) organisations

All responses submitted to Council are anonymous – the Council will not be able to determine the identity of anyone who has returned a completed form.

The form should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and your input into this process would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to complete this please click here.

If you would like to let us know your thoughts in writing please send us an email to the dedicated email address for the audit –dstbcgr@holywellconsultancy.com.

Community Asset Survey

Creggan Enterprises and Holywell Trust
Social Enterprise Online Questionnaire

Holywell Consultancy is working with Creggan Enterprises and Holywell Trust to engage with the community and voluntary and social economy sector in the wider Derry/Londonderry area to carry out a quick snapshot exercise of the assets held within the local community.

The findings from this research will be used to help to inform discussions on how the Acorn Fund, administered by Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, could be used to support the sector. They will also be used to help broaden the discussion about partnership building, joint working and support within the wider sector. The rationale behind the research is ultimately to empower the local community to take ownership and positive steps towards sustaining their future by realising the scale and range of assets held within community ownership.

The main element of the research is an online questionnaire. The questionnaire can be completed by visiting
www.surveymonkey.com/s/NWCommunityAssets. The information collated from this questionnaire will be presented to representatives from the sector to help to deepen discussions.

The deadline for the completion of the survey is Friday 2nd December 2011.

We hope to receive a good response to the survey so that accurate information on the sector is collected. If you require any other information please contact Gerard Deane (Holywell Consultancy) on 7126 7997 or email
gerard@holywellconsultancy.com.

We Carried Your Secrets Event - Newtownabbey

We Carried Your Secrets – DVD Screening & Discussion Session – Newtownabbey
7.30pm 24th March 2011

As a part of the CAN PEACE III Partnership Dialogue and Civic Leadership Programme, a special workshop will be held in Newtownabbey with some of the performers from the Theatre of Witness project’s ‘We Carried Your Secrets’ production.
‘We Carried Your Secrets’, united a group of fathers who are ex-combatants and who were on the front lines during the 'Troubles'. Together they shared their shadow stories of the conflict, their reasons for actively joining their political group and of their transformation. We also heard the stories of the next generation: one who grew up with a father as a member of the RUC, one whose father was murdered and one who frequently participated in anti-social behaviour. What legacy have they been left? How do they carve a future in a land divided by conflict? What is their own private struggle in finding their place?

At the workshop in Newtownabbey the DVD of the development and performance of the production will be screened. This will be followed by a question and answer/discussion session where people will have the opportunity to engage with some of the performers and find out more about the Theatre of Witness project and the impact that it has had on the lives of those involved.

Date: Thursday 24th March 2011
Venue: Yarn Suite, Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey
Time: 7.30pm
